The Standard of Excellence ADVANCED Jazz Ensemble Method continues the successful jazz instruction presented in the Standard of Excellence Jazz Ensembles Method.
Designed as a comprehensive jazz course for group and individual study, it can be used by students who have completed the Standard of Excellence Jazz Ensembles Method, or any student with intermediate-level instrumental skills and at least one year of jazz ensemble experience.
Method highlights:
- Improvisation techniques: Focuses on improvisation learned in the Improvisation Studies and Advanced Improvisation Studies.
- Full jazz ensemble charts: Includes 13 full jazz ensemble charts in a variety of styles, including Swing, Latin and Rock. Charts are playable by as few as nine instruments; two alto saxophones, one tenor saxophone, two trumpets, one trombone, piano, bass and drums.
- For traditional and non-traditional jazz instruments: In addition to the standard jazz ensemble instrumentation, books are available for flute, clarinet, French horn and tuba.
